Charlotte, North Carolina – A Great Place to Live
Events, Life, Sports, Weather, News
Charlotte is the largest city in North Carolina, but it has a small-town feel thanks to an incredibly welcoming community. Residents are genuinely happy to have you in their neighborhood, and they work hard to keep the place clean and safe.
If you love to get out and explore, Charlotte is a great choice for you. You’ll find a variety of museums, parks, and other recreational areas to visit. The city is also within a short driving distance to both the beach and mountains, so there are plenty of outdoor activities to enjoy.
The city’s food scene has grown past its Southern barbecue roots and is now a top destination for cuisine from around the world. You’ll find excellent French and Italian eateries like Fig Tree, as well as Middle Eastern spots like YAFO Kitchen and Viva Chicken, which serves slow-roasted, flavorful rotisserie chicken.
Whether you’re looking for a date night out or a casual beer with friends, there is always something fun going on in Charlotte. The area is home to 18 breweries, many of which offer craft beers and other beverages with an interesting twist. Try the Belgian-style brews at Olde Mecklenburg Brewery or grab dinner and a pint of something unique at Heist Brewery.
Families are welcome in Charlotte, and the area’s schools are generally rated above average by Niche. Kids will love riding the roller coasters at Carowinds amusement park and exploring interactive exhibits at Discovery Place Science Museum. The city’s job market is also strong, especially in the financial industry. The unemployment rate in January 2023 was 3.5 percent, just below the national average.
