Charlotte North Carolina – A Great Place to Live

While many people associate Charlotte with the South, this city also has a long history of European settlement. The first European colonists settled in Charlotte around 1755. Thomas Spratt lived in what is now the Elizabeth neighborhood. His family later moved to the town. Another prominent figure was Thomas Polk, the great-uncle of U.S. President James K. Polk. He built a house at the intersection of two Native American trading paths – one of them ran north-south on Great Wagon Road, and the other ran east-west on Trade Street.

Charlotte is also famous for its beer and wine scene. There are many excellent vineyards and hundreds of breweries in the city. If you’re a beer or wine lover, plan to visit one or more of these breweries during your visit. These craft breweries offer unique experiences and tastings.

If you’re looking for a fun place to unwind after a long day of business, Charlotte has some fantastic restaurants. Yazoo and The Fig Tree are two excellent places to get a taste of fine dining. In addition, Viva Chicken offers Peruvian rotisserie chicken.

Charlotte also has a low cost of living. Rents and home prices in Charlotte are about 1% lower than the national average. The median home price is $178,000 and the median monthly rent is $966.
