We're here for a special edition of the Hurry up with Panthers general manager Scott fitter Scott thanks for doing this I know how busy this week is it's been a Fun process it's been a fun week and We're so excited the draft is finally Here well we call this the hurry up for A reason so I'm just going to get right To it who are the Panthers drafting Number one Scott we'll find out Thursday Night about 8 15. I had to try I had to Try it was worth a shot but in all Seriousness uh what is the confidence Level that you and this organization Have about that number one pick Considering the months and months of Hard work that you've all put into it Well I think that's the whole point it's Like we started back in February with The scouts we went through the whole Process of the workouts the meetings the Talks the dinners And through it all we've got this Clarity about who the pick is and you Know yesterday I talked to Frank and we Decided who the pick was and it was it Was really a five second conversation Yeah well again anytime you want to say It right here to camera before Thursday Night you are free to do so how has that Working relationship evolved with Frank Over these past years Frank is Frank's Great he's just very calm and steady He's got a great football mind he's a
Great communicator and it's fun he just Pops his head in the office quick easy Talk we're on the same page and we move On of course the draft does not Thursday night far from it so are we Going to see some maybe some of that Textbook Scott fitter wheeling and Dealing throughout the other nights of The draft that fans have come to expect We're trying to figure that out right Now we're making calls we know where the Group of players are where we want to be There's a group where we'd want to go up There's a scenario where we'd want to go Up and look at a player if we can get There if not You know we may move back maybe we go Back four five six spots and pick up an Extra pick because you know when you Make a trade like we made you know you End up using those draft picks so it Would be nice to recoup some of those if We can yeah no spot is safe when when You are in that draft room Have you ever seen the memes of you on Draft night like the laser eyes or any Of that stuff Clara I think my mom sent me a couple actually Okay all right we'd love to hear that Yeah I love that your mom is in on the Memes Um finally what are you most excited About I know this is a special time for You you call it the Super Bowl for the
