The City of Charlotte North Carolina
Charlotte has four seasons – summer, fall, winter, and spring. In the Fall, the city is covered with gorgeous foliage. The winters are mild compared to the colder parts of the country, and Charlotte usually sees snow just a few times per year. When the weather dips below freezing, the Charlotte Mountains offer fresh white powder. Summers are warm, but not like the oppressive heat of other southern states.
The city of Charlotte is located in the Piedmont region of North Carolina, which is a broad area of rolling hills stretching from Virginia to Georgia. To the west, it is bounded by the Blue Ridge Mountains, while to the east, it is a flat coastal plain that overlooks the Atlantic Ocean. The area surrounding Charlotte was home to the Catawba Indians until the mid-seventeenth century, when Europeans began to settle the region. The Catawba River is named after them. By the time of the American Revolution, most of the eastern Carolinas had already been settled by Europeans.
Charlotte is a thriving city that offers plenty of job opportunities. The city is home to several Fortune 500 companies, including Wells Fargo, Bank of America, and Duke Energy. The city is also a magnet for families.
