When it comes to living in Charlotte, there’s no shortage of things to do. The city is overflowing with trendy bars, breweries and restaurants that feature Southern comfort cuisine and a variety of other global flavors.
The city also hosts a variety of family-friendly and free events throughout the year like the 9th Annual South End Wine & Hops Festival and the Charlotte Craft Beer Week. The city also offers a number of outdoor activities like boating on the lake and enjoying fireworks displays.
The finance industry is one of the most prominent industries in Charlotte, with Bank of America and Wells Fargo being the largest employers. However, Charlotte also has strong ties to healthcare and energy. The city is home to a number of top-notch hospitals and health centers including Novant Health, Carolinas Medical Center and St. Jude Affiliate Clinic, among others.
Sports are another major draw to Charlotte with teams at every level of the national leagues including the NBA’s Charlotte Hornets and NFL’s Carolina Panthers. The city also has indoor and outdoor soccer, minor league ice hockey, and arena football teams.
Unlike other large metro areas, Charlotte has an average cost of living that’s lower than the national average. It’s a great place to live for young professionals, families and retirees. The city also has a variety of neighborhoods that suit different lifestyles and preferences. From a walkable downtown to dog-friendly communities, there’s something for everyone in Charlotte.
