Charlotte North Carolina – The Buzz of a Big City With the Chill of a Small Town
Events, Life, Sports, Weather, News
Charlotte has the buzz of a big city without the hassle. One trip here and you’ll understand what it means to be “chill.” If you’re coming from a city like Los Angeles, it’s even more of a relief.
While the city’s booming economy has spawned many new restaurants and bars, residents love their neighborhoods and small-town feel. They also love the fact that they can live here for far less than they could in bigger cities, despite a fast-growing cost of living.
For those interested in the arts, there are a number of galleries and performance spaces throughout the area. One of the most popular is the Blumenthal Performing Arts Center, which is home to a permanent collection of American art, as well as touring exhibitions and performances.
Another popular activity is taking in a basketball game. The city is home to the NBA’s Charlotte Hornets, who are a big draw for fans due to their bright team colors and cool merchandise.
The climate in Charlotte is warm and temperate, with a hot season that lasts from May through September and a mild winter. Average temperatures are in the mid 70s Fahrenheit during the summer and in the low 50s during the winter.
The city is surrounded by mountains, lakes and the Atlantic Ocean, offering plenty of opportunities for outdoor activities. In the summer, visitors enjoy a beautiful array of outdoor parks and gardens, while the fall brings beautiful foliage and a chance to catch some college football or basketball.
