Charlotte North Carolina – Summers Are Hot, But Nights Are Cool

Summers in Charlotte North Carolina can be hot, but the nighttime temperatures remain cool. Although the city experiences a high number of summer visitors, you will find a variety of ways to stay cool. Charlotte’s climate is typically a humid subtropical climate, with four distinct seasons. Charlotte experiences ample rainfall year-round, thanks to the city’s location along the path of subtropical moisture from the Gulf of Mexico.

The town grew out of accident. It was discovered on the Great Wagon Road from Philadelphia, and English-Irish settlers named it Charlotte in honor of Queen Charlotte, the German-born wife of King George III of England. Eventually, Charlotte gained the nickname Queen City. It has been a popular tourist destination since that time. Today, Charlotte boasts a vibrant arts and culture scene, and visitors from all over can experience the city’s rich history.
