Will Hornets lose Miles Bridges and P.J. Washington? Rafael Barlowe on Hornets draft choices.

Reports of interest in Miles Bridges and PJ Washington from other teams have Doug and Walker questioning just how committed Charlotte will be in retaining one or both in restricted free agency. They then talk to draft analyst Raphael Barlow of the Locked On NBA Big Board podcast about the Hornets’ draft picks. Raphael believes the Hornets made the right choice drafting Brandon Miller second overall due to his size, versatility, and shooting ability. Raphael also likes the Hornets picking up Nick Smith Jr. late in the first round, saying he is a creative scorer who fell due to injury issues. Overall, Raphael gives the Hornets’ draft an A+ grade, saying they addressed needs and got value with picks like James Nnaji and Amari Bailey.

The Hornets drafted Brandon Miller second overall to add size, versatility, and shooting to their lineup. They also got value later in the draft by selecting players like Nick Smith Jr., James Nnaju, and Amari Bailey, who Raphael believes had first round grades.

Pros and Cons of Living in Charlotte, North Carolina

Events, Life, Sports, Weather, News

Ask a Queen City local about their experience living here, and they’re likely to gush about the gorgeous East Coast nature, friendly small(er)-town feel, and reasonable cost of living. But if you’re considering uprooting your life to move to Charlotte, you’ll want to know more than just that.

To help you get a more comprehensive picture of life in Charlotte, PODS took the liberty of interviewing locals about their top pros and cons of living there. Here’s what they had to say.

Pro:

The city’s thriving arts, music, and dining scenes are just part of the draw for young professionals moving to Charlotte. Its strong job market (especially in finance) is another big plus, and the city offers a wide variety of fun activities for kids and adults alike.

Con:

Charlotte doesn’t rank as one of the most affordable cities to live in, but it is a bit cheaper than New York City and other major U.S. metro areas. The average monthly rent for a one-bedroom apartment in Charlotte is $1,667.

Couples love living in Charlotte because of the city’s many options for date nights. You can get buzzed while brewery hopping in the city, catch some laughs at a comedy show, channel your inner artist at a paint and sip night, or challenge each other to playful competition via bowling, ping pong, foosball, or pinball. It’s also a great place to take your kids on hikes, like the two-mile trail at Crowders Mountain State Park or South Mountains State Park, which boasts beautiful waterfalls and panoramic views.
