Charlotte’s got a whole lot going on. It’s a huge city with plenty of things to see and do, but it also has that special charm that makes you feel like you’re home. Unlike NYC, where the energy feeds ambition, Charlotte has a small town vibe that reminds you that life is about enjoying yourself and connecting with others.
With mild winters and very little snowfall, the summers are lovely with gorgeous springs and breathtaking fall foliage. And if you ever want to get away from it all, you can drive an hour or two west and be in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains. Or head three or four hours east to hit the beaches of the Atlantic coast.
Whether you’re looking to have fun with the kids, catch some live music or just relax in a park, there’s something for everyone here. For kids, take them to pan for gold at Reed Gold Mine, learn about the animals that call the park home at Discovery Place Nature Museum or get their bounce on at Big Air Trampoline Park.
When it comes to couples, Charlotte has no shortage of romantic things to do. Sample craft beer and wine at brewery hopping events, catch some laughs at comedy shows or channel your inner artist at a paint and sip event. Of course, it’s always a good idea to take your date out for a meal at one of the city’s many restaurants. The city ranked 9th on Zagat’s list of America’s 26 Hottest Food Cities and has everything from Italian and French cuisine at The Fig Tree to rotisserie chicken from Viva Chicken.
