Adam Thielen: I have a lot to give to this game

Thielen spoke about his leadership, transition playing for a new team, and the mission here in Carolina.

So Adam what do you know about this team You guys are playing this week not a lot You know I haven't seen him in a long Time now no yeah it's uh yeah it's going To be interesting it's it's already been A little bit weird honestly um you know Starting the game plan talking about the Defense and then seeing them on tape um I've never obviously game planned for Our defense so or the Vikings defense I Should say um so it's it's it's Definitely different but um you know Obviously it's just football um and you Know before the game it'll be a lot of Catching up but then once the game Starts football and I'm excited to and Go and compete up game planning I mean You said it's weird but are you also Giving tips to the other side of the Ball uh when it when it comes to this Matchup yeah there's not a whole lot of Tips I can give on on our on the Vikings Defense just because you know it's it's A new staff on defense um there's some You know obviously I know a lot of the Players um but it's a it's a lot Different scheme that than you know I Had seen in the past there um you know There's some stuff on offense but um From what I've seen on tape Um they're doing a lot of different Stuff and they're trying to they're Trying to evolve as an offense as well So um but yeah I mean there every every

Week you know you kind of try to give Your input of of you know if there's a Team that you've had you've played a lot You know some of those old division Teams um that I played against in Minnesota you try to give that insight And no different here said his advice to You would be don't get too emotional is That kind of going through your mind at All what's it's going to be like when You get on the field on yeah I've been Thinking about that since you know the Schedule came out right like um yeah was I excited that I get to play against Minnesota yeah um but I'm just trying to Treat it like another football game I Know that's very cliche to say but um But I'm like I said I'm going to I'm Going to um take advantage of pregame to Be able to go and say what's up to Everybody you know throughout the Organization I mean shoot I was there For 10 years so a lot of relationships That I built um that are strong Relationships that um I'm excited to go And see those people and and say hello And and you know thank them and tell Them how much I appreciate them um and Then when that when that whistle blows And and I get between those lines I'm I'm playing football like I do every Week um Frank said uh cuz he he Obviously has the same experience going Back to Buffalo he said going to the

City is is completely different and how Much easier is it to manage that they're Kind of coming to you and you don't have To kind of walk in that building yeah Yeah I think that that would be really Difficult probably to walk into US Bank Stadium um but um but at the same time Vikings fans travel pretty well so I Think there be a lot of Vikings fans Here um and a lot of people that I know Um and so it's it's going to be a Definitely emotional day but um I'm Excited to just go out and play football And uh I think when that whistle blows And I'm in between those lines I'm not I'm not thinking about anything other Than just trying to catch the football Aside from this game what have the last You know six months or so been like for You and your family to live in a new Place new part of the country really for The first time what has that been like For you guys yeah it's been obviously a Huge transition for us um it's been a Lot different um for me personally it's It's um I've kind of felt like a rookie Again uh kind of gave me the opportunity To have to go out there impr proove it Every single day because these people Don't know in this organization the Players they don't know what I can do They don't know who I am as a person or A player um so every day just go out There improving it which has been a good

Thing for me um for my family it's put a Lot of weight on my wife just trying to Figure out all the little details uh With having three kids and school and All that and activities so it's been a L On her um but she's handled it Unbelievably I'm thankful it's actually Her birthday today so happy birthday to My wife so very thankful for her and um And has made the transition really Smooth I mean our kids are thriving um They're loving school and their Activities and um as a parent that's all You can ask for sometimes it's tough as A dad when you're in the football season CU you're busy and you don't get to be Around as much as you'd love to but man To see them Thrive and and you know pick Him up from my boy from school and and He absolutely loves school that's that's All can ask for so it's been good the Point of proving yourself in this new Organization how big was that game Sunday at Seattle for you personally Yeah I mean I I wouldn't want to make Too much on one game I think I think It's just um a cumulative effect you Know like the more you can prove what You can do right I look back to when I Was a young player right when you go out There and you you play well and you Prove it in one game now the there's Just more trust whe whether that be from The quarterback whether it be from your

Teammates whether that be from the Coordinator there's just more trust when You're out there making plays um so I've Always tried to take that mentality and Every day at practice um and then in Games obviously it's huge to be able to Go out there and and prove it um and That's kind of the mentality I'm going To continue to carry on and and just Focus on each day and and one day at a Time but I I don't want to put too much On on one game because I've been there Before right you have a good game feel Confident and then this game will humble You quickly so just go back to work and And find a way to get better Adam you Were you were I mean you were you were There for a decade like you said and There's a certain Comfort Level Playing With Kirk and being in that offense why Did you why did you come to Carolina Well I uh uh they released me and uh so I didn't really have a choice but uh but Yeah I mean and then and then after that It was just um it felt like a great fit Which man I'm I'm so blessed to be here Um you know obviously not the start we Wanted but that has nothing to do with How I feel about this organization this Team this players these coaches and I'm So blessed to be here and I I really do Believe I had said to you guys before That that God led me here there was a Reason why I'm here and I feel that

Every single day um and very thankful For that was there even a moment when You thought maybe 10 years is enough let Me just let it be 10 years with one team And not go to another Place um I'd be lying if there wasn't Thoughts um at some points of last Season that I thought maybe I it was it Was it um but then you know there was I Just felt like I still had a lot to give To this game and I really prayed about It I talked about it with my wife um and Just felt like I I had a lot more to Give and that's not necessarily just Meaning on the football field um that Means from you know just being in that Locker room I just feel like like God Has got me in this locker room in a Locker room for a reason and it's not Just to go out there and make plays um So um that's what I'm trying to do you Any understanding at this point as to Why you do feel God that you here yeah I Mean there was just so many signs um I Feel I feel like it was just you know Along the way there was so many signs Now that I've been here there's just Been so many signs to say that this is Where I'm supposed to be and there's a Mission here for me much bigger than Football um and I'm trying to focus on That every single day but um you know Sometimes you get caught up and and Football and all that but um you try to

Just be the the the same person every Single day no matter what um but yeah There's been so many signs and and uh You know every day I wake up I'm like Man I'm in the right spot is there Example that you can share yeah I mean I Think just some of the relationships I've been able to build um here so Quickly um and whether it be with Coaches players staff um you just you Just feel it um and just with my family Like I you know the little things with My with my boy um my oldest son picking Him up up from school and and without me Even asking saying dad I love school Like that stuff like man that's that's Pretty cool so um and it's it's it's Been awesome without you with them being Unable to restructure your contract and Then the release I mean is there any Part of you that kind of um I know wants A little Vengeance Against you know yeah it's it's it's Really hard to explain kind of the Emotions of everything um is there a Little bit yeah maybe but I'm I'm I'm Not the type of person to hold grudges Um you know I I just think That you know it it it just is what it Is right and I'm I'm happy where I'm at And um you know I think I think for me It's just I can't I can't look at the Past I'm just focusing on the now um but But uh yeah I mean there's a lot of

Emotions right you're we're emotional Beings um you're going to have emotions Um but really just I'm I'm trying to be Just the same person every single day And and focus on where I'm at and that's What I'm doing The last one you mentioned how how happy Your oldest kid is now what was that When you delivered the news that that You guys were leaving Minneapolis what Was that conversation like yeah I think They were a little confused you know I Think they were uh you know they grew up Vikings fans I mean they grew up in that Every single day you know going to the Facility we drive by the facility like Oh there's a you know Vikings Stadium um And so they grew up in that in that Mindset so I think they were a little Confused at first um but then I think it Made it more real when we were able to Come here when I signed and they were Able to run on the field and all that And it made a little bit more real for Them um but yeah it's definitely been Different and then my my youngest son he Is actually on flag football team is the Vikings so when he found out that he was On the Vikings he's like what like you Can't cheer for me now because I'm on The Vikings so uh I had to explain to Him that I can still cheer for him but Uh but yeah it's been it's been good Who's their favorite Vikings play and

Favorite Panther player yeah that's a Good question so uh my oldest son scored A touchdown um in flag football on Saturday and he did the gritty so that Probably shows you who his favorite Player is um he's a big Justin fan um I'm pretty sure he wanted Justin's Jersey over mine but um and then um a Panthers player I I'm not really sure Maybe uh maybe Burns just because he Does the Spiderman I think they like That so how good was the gritty it was Actually it was pretty bad that's Prett Bad how is he he's uh he's about to be Seven yeah

Charlotte North Carolina

Reasons to Move to Charlotte North Carolina

Events, Life, Sports, Weather, News

One of the biggest reasons people move to Charlotte is that this city has plenty of things to do. There are numerous festivals, concerts and restaurants that provide something to enjoy for everyone. There are also a wide variety of museums and other attractions that help make this a destination for the whole family.

Another reason to consider moving to Charlotte is that it is a great place for outdoor enthusiasts. There are plenty of places to visit to explore nature like the US National Whitewater Center and Lake Wylie. The city is also home to 230 parks covering 12,000 acres of land, which means that there are lots of green spaces to visit for some fresh air and recreation.

The sports scene in Charlotte is also a big draw for many people. Whether you want to cheer on the Carolina Panthers, the Charlotte Hornets or your favorite NASCAR driver there is always something going on. The city is also a college town with schools such as Duke University and UNC Charlotte providing an abundance of options for students.

The cost of living in Charlotte is on the rise, so it’s important to do your research before you move. A single person will need to earn about $36,000 per year before taxes in order to live comfortably here. Families with children will need to add another $10,000 or so to that number. The city has public transportation but long wait times and limited routes mean that most residents choose to drive.
