So you did this again yeah it's been a While what was that like it's been 294 days or Something [Music] Uh I don't know Um really getting home yesterday early After the walk Through wife and I trying not to think About what today would be Um you go in there with any expectations Feel you're going to get let down Somewhere or the other and so We really just tried to come into today Um as little as I told you guys we knew This this was the gold date and we yeah We don't want to get our own hopes up Though just in case and so I had to be Able to look at it and just countown Those days and Uh it all just it all just poured out There and that that ball went through The uprights uh it's it's really hard to Put in words uh just Katie my one athletic trainer I was Working with the entire time just big Hug thank you she she's meant everything To us as a family this entire time and It's Been Austin you guys trusted the Process how extra special does It yeah that's exactly it um for every Single day to be coming into this Place sitting down having countless
Meetings with the this athletic training Staff physical therapists nutritionists Strength staff Sports Science be to sit Down with them every day there's a set Plan and it's to see it all just you Trusted it from the start right we knew It would happen and the time would come But to see it come out And for it to work out like that and Just have emotions toyed with on that Field goal time and time again um that's It's everything it it's truly special it Seems Like yeah I Know I uh the first one I heard the Whistle so I knew something was was off Second one I glanced up and saw him jump And uh that third one I just I was eyes Were down and I looked up soon as I Heard that thump and you know was good Eddie he's Eddie Money um never a doubt There and and it's Just I don't that's why I didn't want to come In this with any expectations I just Didn't have any clue was going to hit me Like this um it's really it is so great For this team as ugly as it was today And at points we had our flashes we had Our Our rough spots but this team came Together as one today and uh it's what We're going to carry with this mindset Of a true complimentary ball when Special teams is able to get big returns
Like that and shut down their returns And set up good F position for the Offense to the defense you're able to Just build off of that the defense Getting turnovers and we got a field Goal off that's the thing right like we Didn't capitalize in the Red Zone didn't Get those touchdowns that we wanted but Second half there we were starting just Getting points on drives and that's that Was our goal and um it's just true Complimentary ball and what we need to Carry with moving forward this year Austin you guys didn't run great today But that last position three straight Two gos It's exactly it speaks on what today was This team stayed together that even Though um we weren't running the ball Well uh Thomas Brown still had his faith In us he knew what we were going to do For him to call those three straight Runs and and just to deliver up front That's that's an offensive lineman's Dream it's put the team on our back and Go get the job done you know you know You're running it they know you're Running it and there's nothing better to Go get it done to to give the ball to Bryce one final drive and say hey like Go win this thing for us and then to see Him do it what does that do for his Confidence for the guy's confidence in Him yeah I think it's been uh it's
Awesome for him yeah I mean just his Composure overall steady throughout the Entire game and and just obviously my First time with him on the Huddle but Felt like he had just complete control He knew where he was at he was staying Up on the sideline energy was going and And we we were all able to feed off that And for him to go out there and yeah we Were we were graced with some penalties Keep the drive alive but you know it's Football you've been on the wrong side Of that plenty of times too and but but It shows getting a big fourth down Conversion there with theing figuring That pass out and and just breaking runs And just hammering just pushing just Pushing pushing and everything we do is Just all about winning and uh feels good To show up today
