Living in Charlotte North Carolina
Event, Life, Sports, Weather, News
Charlotte is a city that has a lot to offer. The skyline is photo-worthy, the dining options are endless and the community is friendly. The only problem is that the city is growing fast and many residents are not prepared for the cost of living. It is still cheaper than most major cities but the cost of housing is steadily increasing. A single person without kids needs to make at least $36,000 a year to live comfortably in Charlotte and a couple with two children would need at least $109,000 before taxes to live in comfort.
The city is also home to a number of high profile sporting events. The Panthers and Hornets attract millions of fans every year. Having a strong economy helps Charlotte to host these events and they bring a lot of revenue into the city. The city has recently added a professional lacrosse team, the Charlotte Hounds, to play in the top level of American field lacrosse, the Major League Lacrosse.
The city is also located within an hour of the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains and just a three- to four-hour drive from gorgeous beaches on the Atlantic coast. This proximity to natural beauty is a major selling point for many new residents. The city also has lots of green space to enjoy. There are many parks throughout the city where you can spread out with a blanket and watch the sun set or take a stroll through historic Charlotte neighborhoods.
