Patrick Agyemang addresses the media after Charlotte FC’s 5-2 away loss against New York Red Bulls.
Patrick actually just mentioned that Your substitution performance coming in It's probably one of the best ones that He seen talk to me about coming into a Match where you know that you guys are Down and what what you brought to this Team yeah um every time I'm on the bench I always just analyze the game and focus On what I can do to help the team if I Get my name called so I always want to Stay ready I know I went on a stretch of Games not playing the game but I'm Always ready cuz that's what I want to Do so when I got the shout I just told Myself I'm just going to work hard and And be a presence and bother the Backline as much as possible so when I Finally got the the chance to score like I helped the team so it was Good nice and what do you make of your Season at Charlotte um this year I mean You came in you've gotten minut you've Become uh somewhat of an important Player for this club now yeah I think it Was a positive one um I'm very proud of Myself and of course the team but like Personally I think I I really just Wanted to work hard and um learn as much As possible I felt like I was a a sponge And taking in information and just going With it and just trying to be a better Version of myself on and off the field So I learned a lot and um I'm just Excited for next year because I I hope
That I'm able to impact the team even More thank you all right we'll go Steve And then we'll end with Carol Patrick uh your goal was um big Boy goal there um a lot of players would Have felt the contact especially when You have someone hanging on your left Shoulder like that and gone down trying To get the easy penalty kick call there You look more like an NFL tight end Carrying them into the end zone was There um given where Charlotte was at That point and and kind of pissed off at Where the the score line was was that Part of it that that you were not going To be stopped on that yeah um I think Once I seen once I seen the center back Come to challenge with the ball and I And I bounced them off I just told Myself I'm just going to try to go all The way and I knew someone was coming on My left shoulder so I just told myself Hold him off as much as possible and Wait last minute to push it in front of The other Defender so when I got in that Position I was like I'm not going to Just go down like I want to score and Help the team so it's one of those Things where you're in the moment and You just focusing on just putting the Ball in the back and then and that's Exactly what it was it was just me and My Zone and and you didn't celebrate uh and
And neither did Kerwin after his Gaso um because you were also in the Moment of where the game was at that Point U getting it back on did you feel Like when uh you got it back to like 42 That it could have been different yeah Of course um I felt like it could have Been different there was even an Opportunity where Carol crossed the bond If May if I didn't touch it maybe bre Has it's happen and then then it's 43 so It's like little things in these games That that can easily change so quickly So when you score it's like next 5 Minutes what can we do next what can we Do next cuz at the end of the day it Just takes moments and I know we didn't Take the chances but anything could have Happened so I just wanted to restart the Game get the game going right away to Just um give ourselves more opportunity To Score thanks for your time safe travel Thank You all right Carol take it Home um everybody's asked about your Goal I'm just saying he seem like a nice Guy but I think you turn into a beast When you're out there maybe not Intimidated by Anybody yeah yeah of course um as a Striker is like you know you're going to Play against bigger center backs and Bigger guys and people that are very
Physical so you got to match that or Even tap that so I know that on the Field or off the field I'm just like a Chaer guy but on the field I got to I Got to show what I can do and and not be Intimidated by nobody so anytime I get The opportunity to show it I would do It what um you know you're young guy What do you take what do you think You'll remember from tonight maybe on The field or what you heard in the Locker room from coaches or veterans Around you yeah I think it's just on to The next um the main thing is I used to Struggle a lot with dwelling in what What I did before if I missed a chance Or something it would take me a little Bit to get back into the game just cuz I'm I'm I'm thinking about that Opportunity but here I learned a lot About the next the next everything's the Next everything's the next and I learned A lot to to do that so when the Opportunity comes you may not take it But the next one will come right away so I learned about that and just to be calm And patient with yourself as well cuz at The end of the day it is my rookie year This is my first year and I learned a Lot I've I've helped I've learned to to Play with the next Pro and up here so It's just a learning thing and just to Bring it into the next year to to help Even
More thanks Patrick thank you thank you Patrick thank you guys
