The end of the year if Terry does stay On the team for the entire season then Is he going to be someone that continues To shoot 33% from three or is he G to go Back to being the guy that could shoot 38% from three high volume someone that You could depend on during clutch Moments there were two years in a row Where Terry roier was one of the better Clutch scorers in all of the NBA so I Just don't know what we're getting from Terry this season but hopefully the Better one now that lamelo's back Cody Martin Cody Martin gets hurt within the First 58 seconds of his debut last year Appears in six more games after that and This injury that was lingering in the Off season that was lingering all season Long it was one of those injuries that Kept him out the entire year basically I Mean he missed a season as far as I mean Basically just missed an entire year Bryce McMan Nick Smith Jr they're so Young Bryce was hot and cold last year You would expect a second round pick in His rookie season to perform and Nick Smith Jr some fun summer league moments But I don't know if he is really ever Out of Greensboro unless there's an Injury involved do we know anything is My big question and I think it's a great Question I don't think that there's a Position with the Charlotte Hornets that Has more question marks than the
Shooting guard position and and I threw Bryce McGowan's name in there but he Also plays a little bit of small forward Plays a little bit of three I didn't put Brandon Miller's name in here because I I think he's going to play more Three yeah so but but I think the future For Brandon Miller could be um at the Two so yeah a lot of question marks here My question would be bouncing off of Something you said which is can Terry Rosier summon Scary Terry again because I think They're going to need that to happen if They have any chance of even making the Play in they need the 38% shooting Terry Rosier who's not constantly having to Handle the ball who's not as responsible For so many things as he was last season Because of the injuries so really what You're saying there what I'm saying is The Hornets need lamelo ball to stay Healthy in order for Terry Rosier to Reach maximum Terry Rosier remember Walker that Terry came into that season Into media day and told everyone that he Wanted his Focus to be on the defensive End of the floor and we were all like Great if it happens that's a great That's a cool thing to focus on we've Been talking about that a lot need one Of the guards need one of the starting Guards to focus on defense so that would Have been great to see we did not get to
See even if he would have held up that Promise because everything went out the Window when lamelo ball went down with That first injury um in the preseason And so I don't know what he's going to Say at this media day um he's in the Middle of a big contract I actually have A a did you know on his contract I found An interesting detail about his contract Would you like to hear it no it's okay Let's move on let's go no yes of course Of course I would like to hear it please Tell me your factoid okay so I was Looking at his contract he is in the Middle of a four-year deal the Hornets Ow him $23 million this season 24.9 next Season and then 26.6 in that final Season but that final season is actually Partially guaranteed did you know That um I did not know that know I did Not know that at all so how much is Guaranteed at least what's the number There uh that's a great question almost All of it is guaranteed except for about $2 million and I don't remember this Around the contract talk by the way this Is according to spot Trak which is Typically you know on top of these Things and it says that 24.9 million of The 266 is fully guarant is fully Guaranteed or is guaranteed the rest of It is fully guaranteed if Charlotte Plays in the second round of a playoffs And Rosier plays in 70 games in any of
The previous Seasons so he played 63 Last season so that season's out or that Stipulation is out so far so he's got to Play 70 games in the next two seasons And the Hornets have to make the second Round of a playoffs I don't know if he's Going to see that nearly $2 million no The second round of the playoffs doing a Lot of the work to take that money away From him for sure one other thing about Terry rier is you look at him ever since He came over to the Charlotte Hornets From the Boston Celtics he's been an Entirely different player on a volume Standpoint really everywhere right Getting tons more minutes scoring 18 Points or more a game every season he's Been here in Charlotte I wonder if the Minutes go down just a tick from this Last season if if if there's enough with Brandon Miller lamelo um you know we Even talked about Tyler herro yesterday So if there's any kind of trade there But also Terry he's going to be 29 this Season 35 minutes per game last year on 63 appearances I if they go down it's Probably not going to be much as long as He's on the squad I it It's just tough Because there's not a whole lot of depth At this position either so I just just Wondering if okay Terry when he was Playing with all the injuries right Terry did end up playing 63 contests Last year which is a lot given some of
The injuries that they suffered Elsewhere so if if he's healthy and now You have miles and PJ and that you have A bunch of guys back but there's not Really anybody in the back court outside Of Brandon Miller it's tough to try to Figure this shooting guard position out I I think I think probably Terry gets 33 Minutes per game and it goes down Slightly but not really he's mostly on Average for what he's put out there for His Hornets tenure and shooting is is The one does the shooting come back Hopefully it does I think the only way That Terry rosier's minutes go down is If he's traded if it goes all the way Down to zero because he moves on from The Charlotte Hornets uh but I think Otherwise his minutes are going to stay Pretty high uh because as you said the Depth behind him is is not it's not only Not very deep it's super young and There's the big question mark with Cody Martin what's the health status a lot of People ask us we don't know I mean we're We're waiting on word we got some clear Definition on what lamelo's health Status was but still you know we're We're still fuzzy on Cody Martin and and What his availability will be but we've Got media day coming up so you know you Would think they would have to answer Some questions on that so we'll see but You know I think that Terry is going

Kyrie comes in at five Murray at seven Zack LaVine at eight Jaylen Brown at Number two I think that's a little high Jaylen clown I mean he can't even Dribble I don't know why he's number two Paul George at number three you know Again might be a little high but Anthony Edwards at number six now remember Lamelo ball and Company were ranked 15th Maybe lamelo would have been higher if There a little bit more depth at that Point guard position but yeah Rosier Finds himself at number 15 interestingly The guy that we talked about a lot Yesterday Tyler hero is number 13 you a Lot of people got mad at me not mad but Just they were um a little bit surprised That I would even that I would even Bring up that Tyler hero could at some Point Come Off the Bench for the Charlotte Hornets uh was I was I like Way off base with that idea that hero And in in future Seasons uh could be you Know a depth piece for Them I don't I don't know if I would say It was way off base I think I I think to Your point a lot with the Hornets just Being a team trying to get into the Postseason I think Tyler herro if you Trade for him would probably start for This squad right now and even in even in The next couple of Seasons you you would Have To I I mean there are certainly
Scenarios you would have to bring in Somebody somebody that you like Defensively a lot more than he could be The six-man off of the bench yeah like Six-man bench guy that's what he is Right now literally one Man of the Year On a more talented team I guess people Just don't Envision the Hornets as being Nearly as talented as Miami and so it's Hard for them to see Tyler hero coming Off the bench with this squad as Currently constructed but in a couple of Years you get a defensive-minded good Shooting guard to pair alongside lamelo Yeah I could see Tyler herro rid in the Pond and that was kind of my point right My point was that you know in future Seasons when if Brandon Miller ascends To the the because I see him as an Oversized 2 ultimately like if he Reaches his ceiling he's an oversized 2 And you could have Tyler hero as a bench Piece and I'm I'm you know sort of Projecting out the Hornets making moves Around that to add even more talent to This roster and then but what I'm saying Is what excites me about an about the Idea of bringing hero on is that I think He ages well and he would Age into a Role that he is comfortable with which Is coming off the bench and when you say Coming off the bench people get offended Oh he can't come off the bench but hero Did but he was essentially a starter it
Was that's that's the thing the teams Find good teams find ways to sort of Cheat the system and and you know you Don't start a guy like Tyler herro but You end up playing him 30 plus minutes Because he's such a great score and so That's sort of my point was that yeah in The short term you're going to start the Guy because you don't have a ton of Talent and he's a talented player I mean Much like Terry Rosier honestly like if This team had more Talent Terry Rosier Would be a great Sixth Man Off the Bench But he's he's starting two guard because They need that guy playing as much as Possible if they want to score enough Points to beat an opposing team despite His defensive Issues I think in the back court we've Seen law Murray basically just rank the Starters in the NBA at least for us Because there's not a lot of depth at Either position shooting guard or point Guard right now shooting guard there Could be if Cody Martin comes back Healthy ready to go and depending on who Emerges from some of these younger Players for sure point guard I feel a Lot less confident in somebody showing Up outside of lamelo but shooting guard There there could be someone on on uh You know the bench that comes in for a Terry roier breather something like that But yeah basically La Murray is just
Ranking the starters here and I Understand it's just tough to look at Anybody as depth pieces and say yep I Feel confident that those guys are Better than every other depth piece the Other NBA teams have I mean if you look At the list because at the bottom of the List it's guys you know you've got New Orleans who has herb Jones who is you Know they're they're a very important Defensive piece but they're probably Knocking him uh for just not being any Kind of offensive threat uh Devon Vel in San Antonio is 26th 25th is Jordan Clarkson in Utah 28th Grayson Allen in Milwaukee uh Andrew NIMH hard in Indiana Is number 29 so you know I think that Really Terry Rosier leads a tier of shooting guard That is guy that's important to your Team but is not kind of a featured star Piece of your team uh so I think that's Really where he ranks I mean they've got Giddy or Law's got giddy at number 11 Desmond Bane at number 10 uh so yeah I Mean I don't disagree the only thing I I Extremely disagree with is that he has Devin Booker at number four I mean That's ridiculous Deon snooker what is That guy this guy never won anything he Got him top five Unbelievable of course of course yeah You said Jaylen clown and Devin snooker You are coming after the shooting guards
